Meet the Staff

Music Director

Director, Rachel Cornett is a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a Bachelors in Choral Music Education and Masters in Music Education. During her time at the UofA she studied classical voice, sang in many choirs, and played percussion and piccolo in the UA Marching Band.

After graduation, Rachel taught Middle School Choir for ten years in Bentonville, Arkansas (2003 Teacher of the Year) and was the co-director of the Bentonville Children's Choir before moving to New York City in 2011. In NYC, Mrs. Cornett taught music at TEP Charter School in Manhattan for two years. Rachel is currently teaching 8th and 9th grade Choir at Lakeside Junior High in Springdale, Arkansas.

Mrs. Cornett lives in Fayetteville, Arkansas with her husband, Jamie, and their two daughters Audrie (age 8) and Annie (age 6).

UA Music Interns

Corey Swann, 2018 UACC Intern 


Corey Swann is currently a senior at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in December 2018. He is majoring in Music Education, with a Choral concentration. He studied conducting under Dr. Stephen Caldwell and has been a member of the Schola Cantorum, the University’s premier choral ensemble, for seven semesters. He is currently student teaching at Fayetteville High School and assists in conducting the Children's Choir at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. 

Corey has studied voice under Dr. Moon-Sook Park. He has sung solo performances in Germany, Austria, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. He has also sung with the Inspirational Chorale, University of Sussex Chamber Choir, Link Ensemble, and the London Philharmonic Choir.
